Looking back on the past week before school started and the first two days of school, there has been a lot going on at Northview.

Mon-Wed was spent working with teachers to update and fix problems that had developed over the summer. From printers to computers to network problems and logging in, I was busy in the classrooms of many teachers in our school.

Back to school night, Wed, was fun as we held a Technology fair in the gym. Parents and students were able to come through and engage in technology activities and witness how each of our new forms of technology will work in their children's classrooms. It was exciting to see their reaction and excitement to all the new things their children will be able to work with during the coming school year!

Thursday, after the first half day of school, I spent my time developing a computer lab schedule for K-2 teachers. These teachers have seen an increase in their computer lab time, with the addition of the laptops for the upper grades. This increase has dramatically impacted their daily schedules and forced them to start thinking differently about their use of time in the computer lab. This schedule took from 1:30-4:30 as it was enriched with conversations between myself and other teachers, to plan what computer time would look like for them this year. Many discussions about how to integrate technology into the curriculum took place, as well as doubts of child ability at this young of an age. After much discussion, all K-2 teachers are developing ideas and meeting with me if they have any difficulties. I will provide ideas and lap support for Kindergarteners and any other grade level that would like extra support at any given time.
